LR-19133 - Certainly bothered about the temperature, this guy had just finished his shift and then put some kit on to pedal home. I had got what I thought was the Hovercraft square on a very overcast and cold day, popped a couple of shots off and was not happy with the exposure, so reset and lifted the camera to find this guy in the frame. Not something you see everyday in front of a Hovercraft.
Hovertravel have been running a commercial public transport service for some 45 years, flying across the Solent in under ten minutes. As a personal note, the service here is second to none, you are treated like a paying customer, with hello's, thank you's and updated if there are any issues; other services are available but without good old customer service.
The concept of the Hovercraft designed by Sir Christopher Cockerell whilst at Saunders Roe (who designed and built the Flying boats), later he worked for Westland's, where the Hovercraft was developed commercially with C.H. Latimer-Needham famous for adding the skirt!
