P1200799 - Make a photograph today with a central point of interest in it.
Cakes and a figurine and what is the central point of interest. I'll leave that to each viewer as I think there are many depending on your view point mine was the icing.
Icing figurines where created to decorate banqueting tables in northern Europe, quite often telling a story as the table centrepiece, battles won and so on. Once Meissen had developed porcelain the ability to replicate the whiteness of the icing the table centre pieces changed to the porcelain figures. There is a whole book on this stuff somewhere. In the meantime potters in the UK also made figures of news stories which were also so used by the middle classes to show they are up with the current trends etc. (That's a quick summary of about 100 years in the pottery and porcelain history).
Enjoy your cake as you eat it
