Two horses killed and riders injured after being hit by a car near Guildford
Two horses have had to be put down after they were hit by a car in Surrey.
The animals were being ridden along Westwood Lane in Christmas Pie near Guildford at around 9am this morning.
The two riders, a woman in her 50's and a girl in her early teens sustained minor injuries. The woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The two horses were sadly put down at the scene by a vet due to their injuries. The driver of the car was unharmed.
The road was closed for a number of hours but has since reopened.
