Spiders coming in two-by-two to find some where moist/damp area to romp away towards the end of September and the middle of October! Double the human population of GB will be stomping in their hob nailed boots up to 7.5 cm in size.
So why such a big number of the eight legged wonders, it is down to the warmer summer creating more flies to maintain a healthy population of spiders.this year.
Once a male has found a female's web, he remains there for a number of weeks, mating repeatedly with her. The female then stores the sperm over the winter, allowing her to produce more than ten egg sacs – each containing up to 60 eggs.
